On August 5th in Coplapo, Chile a mine collapsed and left thirty-three miners trapped for sixty-nine days. On August 22nd the outside world first established contact with the miners. Finally on Tuesday night, October 12th the rescue began. One by one, the miners came up out of the mine. The men ranging in age from nineteen to sixty- three came out of the mine through a red, white, and blue metal capsule. Twenty-two hours after the rescue began, Uzra, who is the fifty- four year old boss was the final man to come out of the mine. In Chile's capitol, Santiago, hundreds gathered and watched the rescue on a big screen. They chanted, "Chi! Chi! Chi! Le! Le! Le! Watching the rescue live at my own home I was able to witness a very big part of history. This was an extremely tragic event but it does have a very happy ending.
